From 2010 to 2013 I worked at Plum. It’s a local boutique business run by husband and wife team, David Scott Rosen and Cari Aliveto Rosen, which the two founded in 2005. I started off as a sales associate in September 2010 and was given the position of Assistant Manager in May of 2011. In addition to working there in a retail aspect part-time, I also handled much of the public relations and advertising for the business. When we moved to a new location in the Spring of 2011 I started working on a website, www.plumwv.com, which I curated, edited and maintained. I also used my marketing skills to further build the business’s brand and expand their audience. In June 2011 Plum held their grand opening celebration which I did the PR for; contacting media outlets, local newspapers and publications, as well as creating a social media campaign to further advertise the event. Most recently, though, I was able to take the once static website to a much more interactive eCommerce site where customers can now shop online too.
